Disaster Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera has said that 620 families comprising 2500 members have been affected by the adverse weather conditions.
In a special statement, the Minister said that many parts of the country are affected by adverse weather conditions. 620 families comprising 2454 members are hindered by this situation. Two deaths have also been reported. As a Government required grants were being directed to the Divisional Secretaries for the provision of cooked meals and dry rations, as well as to meet all other requirements of the victims. The Minister also said that they were dispatching assistance to affected areas. This includes foreign relief.
