South Carolina prosecutors say a 15-year prison sentence for a man who broke into a woman's home after she obtained an order of protection against him shows they will seek harsh punishment for victims of harassment.
Authorities say 60-year-old Thomas Gilliland was found guilty Wednesday of first-degree burglary and violating an order of protection.
Investigators say a woman found Gilliland in her home after she got home from work in March. She was given a restraining order against Gilliland the month before.
Prosecutors say the woman testified against Gilliland.
