Deyata Kirula, an Exhibition showcasing the development of the country got off to a start at Buttala this afternoon.
President Rajapaksa who was the chief guest at the opening ceremony was warmly greeted by a colourful dramatized event presented by young men and women of Uva Wellassa. Expressing his views on the occasion the President emphasized that it is opportune for everyone to unite, sans difference for the massive battle waged for the development of the country. He had the ability to work healthily in the face of political invalids. He asserted that he would be dedicated on behalf of the programme mooted for the uplift of the village and the country crushing narrow conspiracies. The President also joined in a tour of the Exhibition grounds. It spans 200 acres. There are about 2000 stalls. The President joined in viewing the Exhibition amidst the applause of the school children.
