The Richland County coroner is asking for help in finding family members of man who recently was found dead in Columbia.
Daniel Parler, 67, of Fiske Street was found along a roadside Jan. 28 and admitted to Palmetto Health Richland, said Coroner Gary Watts. He originally was admitted as a John Doe because he did not have any identification on him. Authorities used fingerprints to identify Parler.
However, no one who lived with him in the Fiske Street house knew of any family, Watts said.
It is possible that Parler had family in Orangeburg.
Anyone with information on Parler's next-of-kin is asked to call the coroner's office at (803) 576-1799.
