The danger posed by flood in the Anuradhapura City is being eased.
A number of tanks including Nachchaduwa and Eru-wewa were reaching the spill level due to the rains experienced in the upper reaches. However the dangerous situation was being overcome as the weather was improving in the area. 14500 people have taken shelter in temporary camps. 104 camps have been set up in 19 Divisional Secretariat Divisions. A programme has been launched to provide them cooked food and other necessities.
