Large crowds flock to Deyata Kirula

Today is the second day of Deyata Kirula” (Crowning the Nation” Exhibition which is being staged at Buttala in the Moneragala District.

Deyata Kirula is a massive educational and development exhibition. It is being organised for the fifth time to coincide with the 63rd Independence Day celebrations. The exhibition grounds spans 200 acres. Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya expressing views to our special representative at the exhibition grounds said that as an Exhibition Committee member he was satisfied with the arrangements made. The President wanted to effect development to a remote area. As such he selected the Moneragala District. He revealed that infrastructure development had been mooted in the District, expending more than 10 Billion rupees. The last exhibition drew a crowd of two million. The Minister was confident this record would be broken in Moneragala. The Deyata Kirula Exhibition is a concept of the President. The Minister spoke of the contributions made by various Ministers, Ministries, state establishments and specially the media for the success of the event. In response to queries made from the Minister as to location of the next Exhibition, he said it was the President who would decide on it. The Minister said the President would decide an area suitable for development.
