Arrangements in place to grant relief to flood victims

Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili has said that all arrangements are in place to help families affected by the disaster.

Mr. Kodippili said that 653 Welfare camps have been set up and 236, 953 persons are housed in these Camps.

One million 53,499 persons have been affected by the disaster. He said that eight deaths had been reported and the number injured in five. 914 houses are totally damaged and 6,668 houses are partially damaged. Relief is being continuously extended to the affected families. Mr. Kodippili emphasized that the Army and the police are assisting in these operations. Also officials of Disaster Management Centres in unaffected areas have been directed to the disaster struck areas to help the flood victims.
