Aid is being airlifted to be distributed amongst the flood affected people.
Air Force spokesman Group Captain Janaka Nanayakkara said that aid weighing 27,000 kilo grammes was distributed yesterday. The Air Force Spokesman said that the Air Force has deployed three helicopters to provide relief. A MI-17 Helicopter from the Hingurakgoda camp and a Bell 212 helicopter each from Anuradhapura and Batticaloa camps have been deployed. They have handed over 10,000 Kgs. of cooked food to regional relief centres. Ten patients in serious condition were air lifted from regional hospitals to Anuradhapura hospital. He said that relief operations will continue as long as their services are required.
