All newly elected officials promise change, but the Orangeburg County sheriff-elect says citizens will see results in a hurry.
"In the next 60-90 days people will notice a difference," Leroy Ravenell said. "They will see a change in the appearance of our deputies, both mental and physical.
"We will police Orangeburg County like we have never policed it before, starting now. This is a new day."
Ravenell replaces the late Sheriff Larry Williams, who died last September. He called the death of his friend a loss for the county.
He will fill out Williams' third term, which ends in 2012.
