A Presidential Task Force has been set up for the immediate reconstruction of areas devastated by floods.
The decision was taken by the Central Working Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party which met at Temple Trees today under the patronage of President Rajapaksa. Agreement was reached to moot a special programme to bring immediate normality to all areas in the island which were impacted by floods and other sudden disasters as a result of torrential rain. Accordingly the Presidential Task Force will handle the uplift of civilian life through the reconstruction of areas affected by the adverse weather. SLFP General Secretary and Minister Maithripala Sirisena said that the Presidential Task force will comprise representatives of all Ministries related to the uplift of civilian life.
