Foreign Ministers of India and Sri Lanka have held discussions to strengthen friendship between the two countries and solve problems pertaining to the fisheries sector.
Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris who is currently visiting India met with Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna and held detailed discussions yesterday. They also focused on the alleged incident of killing two Indian fishermen. The Sri Lankan Minister requested India to provide any available evidence in this connection. The Sri Lankan Navy says that so far there has not been any evidence to the incident. The Foreign Minister said that satellite images also confirm the fact that the Navy is not connected to the incident.
