Two men were arrested after a chase from Fairfield County down I-77 to Ft. Jackson and then onto South Beltline Boulevard, Richland County Sheriffs deputies said Tuesday.
At the chases end, in the parking lot of a South Beltline apartment complex parking lot, the car headed for several deputies on foot and one deputy fired his gun at the car, stopping it, said county sheriffs deputy Sgt. Chris Cowan.
The deputies were unhurt.
The half-hour chase started around 9:30 a.m. when Fairfield County deputies tried to stop a car they believed might hold a man wanted for murder, Cowan said.
The Dodge Charger the fugitives were in was stolen, he said.
