1.1 million people are still impacted by torrential rain. The Disaster Management Centre said more than 175,000 are still sheltered in camps.
Mr. Kodippili said that 646 camps are still operative. Over 172,000 persons are sheltered in these camps. He said the death toll has arisen to sixteen. 2699 houses have been totally damaged while the number partially damaged is 18 thousand 860. The total number affected by the disaster is over 1.1 million. Mr. Kodippili reported that relief operations are continuing satisfactorily. All units of the Disaster Management Centre are coordinating the relief operations. These are operative round the clock. He referred to the enormous contributions made by the members of the armed forces and the police. He added that relief was being extended under the supervision of the District Secretaries.
