Warrants have been issued for the arrest of six members of the Tamil Rehabilitation Organisation which has been proscribed. They are accused of providing funds to the LTTE.
The suspects were not present in the Colombo High Court when the related case was taken up for hearing today. As such warrants were issued for their apprehension. Giving due consideration to the submissions made by the State Counsel, the High Court issued open warrants to the CID to arrest the suspects and produce them in Courts. The Funds provided to them had been used by the LTTE to procure weapons. Further hearing will take place on the 22nd of this month.
