President Rajapaksa says the children need love and care. Parents should dedicate themselves to look into the activities of the children, whatever duties they had to perform. The President said the moulding of good children is the highest investment that is being made for the future.
The President pointed out that parents should commit more time to look into the activities of the children. Guiding the children on the right track is essential for their social well being and for the betterment of society. The Government’s allocation for education has increased annually with the desire of providing the best for the posterity. The President commented that if he was to show to the world the best that can be developed in the country, he opined that he would point out the classroom sans any hesitation.
The President was addressing the “Diri Udana” Programme organized at the Matugama Auditorium. School gear was distributed among 20 thousand children of the Kalutara District with personal donations made by Minister Kumara Welgama. Speaking further, the President opined that successful beings could not be produced through books alone. An attitudinal change should be effected within schools to confront future challenges. The President emphatically stated that the country cannot be built only through education. Instead, he added that a disciplined generation which cares for the country should be moulded.
