Sri Lanka possesses adequate resources to face the world food crisis. Politburo member of the National Freedom Front Piyasiri Wijenayake expressed this view at a media conference held in Colombo.
He said the areas that were not affected due to floods should be used for large scale cultivation. He said short term crops should be introduced and seeds should be provided free of charge. He noted that the Sri Lankan nation has self confidence while administration has the ability to face up to any challenge. He stressed that the political agenda should be forgotten to rescue the country. The national agenda should replace the political agenda and all people should be unified.
