President Rajapakse gives instructions to officials to expedite development of all Provinces through a streamlined plan.
The President referred to the need of a streamlined and speedy plan to expedite development of all Provinces. The President expressed these views when he received the the Yapahuwa five-year development plan at Temple Trees yesterday. It is necessary to develop infrastructure in all provinces to uplift the living standards of the people to make the concept of developing the country through the improvement of villages a reality. The President said dedication in this respect was the onus of all political representatives. He pointed out that it is the obligation of every one to support the Mahinda Chinthana Extended Version by fulfilling the responsibilities towards the country and the people honouring the pledges sans making them false promises.
The President declared that measures should be adopted to accelerate development of all promises taking the facts incorporated in the Yapahuwa five-year development plan as an example. The President also launched the Website of the Plan. Minister T.B. Ekanayake, President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunge and many senior officials were present.
