The ferry service between Colombo and Tuticorin is being launched today linking South India and Sri Lanka by sea.
The sea route between the two harbours is opening after a number of years. The first ferry will leave for Colombo from Tuticorin, strengthening the friendship and economic relations between the two countries. The ferry known as MSV Raj will bring a stock of spices to Colombo. It will reach the Colombo harbour tomorrow. The authorities of the two countries have decided to initiate passenger transport services between several cities in South India and Sri Lanka.
