Houses for public servants and the low income

Feb 13, 2011 7:10:27 AM - itnnews.lk

Thousands of houses are to be constructed for the benefit of state employees as local income families. The “Jana Sevana Upahara” and the “Sasunen Sevana”s Housing Programmes have been launched for the purpose.

Minister Wimal Weerawansa said that loans will be given for 22 thousand public employees during this year. He said the allocation made for the disbursement of loans is around 45 Billion Rupees.

In the meantime, low income families would become proud owners of houses. This Housing programme is being planned in parallel to the 2600th Sambudtthwa Anniversary. This “Sasunen Sevana” Housing Programme will be launched targeting the temples.

This new programme will be an impetus to make the Mahinda Chinthana a reality, making every family a proud owner of house in the journey towards making the motherland “Asia’s Wonder.”
