UNP members met with the Elections Commissioner today (14).
A group of UNP parliamentarians headed by party secretary Tissa Attanayake met with the Elections Commissioner to discuss issues related to the local government elections.
Attanayake told the media that the party members met with the Elections Commissioner to discuss matters related to the holding of a free and fair local government poll.
He charged that while public properties have been misused in the election campaign, incidents of election related violence have also increased.
According to Attanayake, the party would also make a request from the Elections Commissioner to grant permission for party representatives to enter the postal voting centers.
