A South Carolina woman has been arrested after North Carolina police say she left a toddler in a cold car parked beside Interstate 85.
Police say a 17-month-old girl was found in a car in 28-degree weather early Sunday.
Gastonia police say 29-year-old Jessica Perry of Simpsonville, S.C., is charged with driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license, possession of prescription depressants and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Sgt. Eric Howard says someone reported a stalled vehicle with a woman beside. Howard says the woman wasn't there when an officer arrived, but returned about 30 minutes later and appeared to be impaired.
The Department of Social Services has the toddler.
