A Columbia native took home a Grammy Award Sunday.
Staff Sgt. Brandie Lane, an audio engineer for the West Point Band, won a Grammy for best engineered album in the classical category for her work on “Quincy Porter: Complete Viola Works.” The record was also up for two other awards.
Lane was in Los Angeles to receive her award during a pre-telecast ceremony held across the street from the Staples Center, where the televised parts of the Grammys were held.
If you’re wondering, yes, Lane did get to see Justin Bieber — and his hair.
“Not up close,” Lane said. “I guess I was 50 feet away from him. His hair is perfectly coiffed, I have to say.”
