Japan is extending assistance to uplift the standard of living of the rural people.
Japan is extending financial assistance worth 37.2 million rupees. The projects are being implemented in Monaragala, Ampara and Matara Districts. The agreements in this connection were signed at the Japanese Embassy in Sri Lanka. 12 million rupees will be allocated for the projects in the Monaragala District while 9.6 million rupees for Ampara District and 5.6 million rupees for the Matara District. The funds will be used in development, drinking water supply, canal construction and dry fish manufacturing projects. Japanese Ambassador Kunio Takahashi was among those present.
