Authorities say a Greenville County sheriff's deputy has been returned to duty after he was cleared in a shooting outside a Greenville Wal-Mart.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Department says 15-year department veteran Sgt. Eric Alligood was returned to regular duty Friday.
Alligood and other deputies tried to get Dunyell Gordon to drop two butcher knives Feb. 15 and stunned him with a Taser. But Gordon threw a knife at one deputy, cutting his leg.
Deputies say Alligood then shot Gordon, who is still hospitalized in stable condition.
The deputy whose leg was cut has returned to light duty.
