The trial for the case against former UNP Parliamentarian Myon Mustaffa for attempting to bribe the former NFF Parliamentarian Mohamed Muzammil has been fixed .
The Attorney General has filed a case against Myon Mustaffa for attempting to bribe the former NFF MP Mohamed Muzammil to seek his support for the common candidate Sarath Fonseka in the last Presidential Election. The case was taken up before the Colombo Magistrate Depali Wijesundare. Accused Mayon Mustaffa was not present before the Courts and was represented by a Lawyer. The Complainant Mohamed Muzammil was requested to be present in Courts when informed. The case was postponed to the 6th of May. The accused is charged with attempting to pay a bribe of 4.2 million rupees to the complainant to obtain his support and thereby violating the Presidential Election Act.
