The Chennai Police have arrested Tamil Nadu MP Thol Thirumavalavan who was not permitted to enter Sri Lanka. One thousand persons including Thirumavalavan were nabbed during a protest opposite the Sri Lanka High Commission.
Three politicians loyal to the tiger terrorists including Thirumavalavan had made an untiring attempt to enter Sri Lanka via the Katunayake International Airport. Sri Lanka’s Immigration and Emigration Department took action to deport them to India as they could not give proper reason for their arrival. They had arrive in Sri Lanka to participate in the funeral of Velupillai Prabhakaran’s mother. T. Thirumavalavan is a strong LTTE loyalist who had been involved in several demonstrations in Tamil Nadu against the Sri Lankan Government and the humanitarian operations. The group had arrived in Colombo at around 2.00 a.m. Immigration and Emigration officials said that they were deported in the plane they arrived. Thirumavalavan had staged a protest opposite the Sri Lanka High Commission in India against his deportation As such Indian media reported that the Chennai Police apprehended him.
