The South Korean Government is extending support to Sri Lanka to minimize environmental issues in the face of speedy development.
Visiting South Korea’s Vice Minister for Trade and Energy Park Young June met Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa had a discussion in this respect. The meeting took place at the Environment Ministry. Minister Yapa said that Sri Lanka, as a country utilizing natural resources in the generation of power, was working with a clear vision in this respect. Their discussions also focused attention of a strategy on the proper disposal of garbage in the launch of new industries and trade hubs. Chairman of the Central Environment Authority Charitha Herath were among those present at this meet.
Meanwhile the visiting South Korean Vice Minister has held talks with Minister Basil Rajapaksa. Their meeting took place at the Presidential Secretariat. The meeting focused attention on firming up the existing ties between the two countries. They expressed agreement on strengthening relations in the investment and tourism spheres.
