The Interim Order issued on the United National Party preventing it from taking disciplinary action against eight Muslim Congress Parliamentarians including Minister Rauff Hakeen has been further extended.
The Colombo High Court further extended the interim order after taking up the related case for hearing today. Counsels intimated to Court that they would be presenting their objections on behalf of Respondents UNP Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe and General Secretary Tissa Attanayake. The petitioners said that the UNP was planning disciplinary action against after they decided to join the Government. They had filed the petition asking the Court to give a ruling that the UNP had no authority to hold such an inquiry.
