Authorities say a 10-year-old Chester County boy needed stitches after a fellow student stabbed him in the back with a steak knife at school.
The Herald of Rock Hill reports the two students at the Chester Park Elementary School of Inquiry were sent to the hospital for treatment after an 11-year-old boy stabbed the 10-year-old while they were in the bathroom earlier this week.
The younger boy returned to school after getting stitches for a cut an inch-and-a-half deep.
Officials found the knife with a 4-inch blade in a urinal. The 11-year-old has been removed from school, and his mother confirmed the knife came from their house.
Authorities said they aren't sure why one boy cut the other.
