Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom have come to an agreement to increase the number of flights between the two countries.
According to sources emanating from the Airport and Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka, the number of direct flights between the two countries is to be increased to 21 from the present 14 flights.
The British Government has also agreed to extend these flights to Canada. Consequently, Sri Lanka will operate seven flights in a week to Canada. In addition, several leading British airline companies have also agreed to commence flights to Sri Lanka. The bilateral agreement between Sri Lanka and UK in regard to strengthening services in the civil aviation sectors has been inked.
