Minister Basil Rajapaksa has said that it is the obligation of the nation to extend their support to the President on behalf of the development drive.
The Minister said that the people should give their support to the President and the Government to develop the country as they extended assistance to eliminate the terrorism menace. The development drive is now being successfully mooted throughout the country.
The Minister was speaking at the launch of the Ampara District main ceremony of the Government’s programme of developing 2000 tanks. The reconstruction of several tanks in Ampara took place under the guidance of S.L. Rajapaksa. The development of 2000 tanks is in place to prepare the background required for an agricultural revolution countrywide while rebuilding the irrigation network that was damaged by the recent deluge. Senior Minister P. Dayaratne, Minister S.M. Chandrasena and several Parliamentarians in addition to Government officials were present at yesterday’s ceremony.
