45 more Sri Lankan fishermen released by India are due to reach the Island along with their eight vessels on Friday.
They were arrested by India on charges of strain into the Indian territorial waters. The released fishermen are due to be entrusted by the Indian Coast Guard to the Sri Lanka Navy. As a result of violating territorial boundary limits, 100 fishermen who were in Indian custody were released recently. Of them, 26 had returned home. The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources said their intention is to get down the others as soon as possible.
