A Morganton, N.C., woman has been charged with running a meth lab from her home, which also is used as a day-care facility, Morganton police say.
A man who lives at the residence also was charged.
The Public Safety Office in Morganton says a Burke County Narcotics unit arrested Katrina Epperson and Christopher Webb Tuesday evening after conducting a search of Epperson's home on Vine Arden Road. A sign in front of the house advertises it as Kit Kat's Place, a day-care center.
No children were at the residence when agents arrived Tuesday, however.
According to Burke County authorities, an agent checking pseudoephedrine sales in the area reported Epperson and Webb had bought a large amount of the compound, which is used in cold medication but also is a key ingredient for methamphetamines.
