Arrangements are underway to draw an increased number of tourists from Korea.
Minister S.M. Chandrasena said that the representatives conveyed to him that large numbers of Korean nationals are arriving in the country as peace has been established. He said they indicated that their tourists are interested in visiting national parks such as Yala, Wilpattu and Udawalava in addition to Pinnawala. The Minister who visited the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage with representatives from Tourism sector in Korea expressed these views. The representatives had arrived in the island to thank the Sri Lankan Government for gifting of the two baby elephants from the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
