Measures are being taken to fulfill a number of shortages in the hospitals in Polonnaruwa District.
The distribution of medical equipment among Polonnaruwa General Hospital and other hospitals was carried out under the patronage of Deputy Minister Siripala Gamlath at Arala-ganwila. Equipment worth 30 million rupees comprised anesthesia machines, ECG machines and beds. and other equipment. Health clinics pertaining to indigenous as well as western medicine were conducted for the flood affected people. Eye glasses, hearing aids and wheelchairs were also donated. The programme was carried out under the auspices of 360 C-1 District of Lions Club. Minister Salinda Dissanayake was amongst those who participated in the occasion.
