The Air Force Spokesman has called for information from eyewitnesses on the Kfir aircraft crash that occurred at Yakkala.
An investigation has already been launched into the collision of the fighter jets. Air Force Media Spokesman Group Captain Andrew Wijesuriya said the report will be presented within two weeks. The operations of Kfir aircraft has been suspended until the investigation is completed. The Air Force Media Spokesman requested the people to provide eye witness accounts to the Air Force. They can contact the Air Forece on 0777 – 269651 to provide the information.
Meanwhile the postmortem on Flight Lt. Monath Perera who lost his life has been completed. It has been revealed that the he suffered a heart attack while air borne. The JMO of the Negombo Hospital stated that the heart attack has been caused by a blockage in an artery in the right side of his heart. The Postmortem has revealed that the death has been caused due to various injuries received due to the fall.
