Another group of Sri Lankans serving in Libya has returned home.
A special flight was chartered to get them down based on an order given by the President. Accordingly, 138 Sri Lankans arrived at the Katunayake International Airport this afternoon. Most of the Sri Lankans serving in Libya had been evacuated under several stages due to the volatile situation prevailing there. The Foreign Employment Bureau made all necessary arrangements to get down the Sri Lankans at the behest of the President. The Sri Lankans who returned home commended the government for the initiatives taken and expressed their gratitude to the President.
