A running man clad only in underwear was arrested early Sunday morning after dashing through Columbias Five Points followed by another running man who had all his clothes on.
Both men were arrested after failing to stop for Columbia police, according to Deputy Police Chief Ruben Santiago.
Five other people were also arrested shortly thereafter after they gathered and began yelling at and cursing at police officers, he said. One member of the unruly crowd grabbed a police officer by the shoulder and then resisted arrest, he said.
All face various charges including disorderly conduct, he said.
The first man was not charged with indecent exposure because he had on his underwear, Santiago said.
The incident in the bar and business district took place at about 3 a.m. Sunday.
