15 thousand more jobs will be offered to Sri Lankans in South Korea in the future. Minister Dilan Perera said this is an outstanding opportunity for the Sri Lankan youths.
The Minister said that South Korea offers different job quotas for countries including Sri Lanka and Vietnam. But they usually do not increase this quota. Normally Korea registers 5000 persons per year after they are successful in the Korean Language proficiency examination. There are instances when it increases to 7500. But he revealed that the President was able to increase it to 15 thousand this year.
The Minster was speaking at a function organized for the presentation of scholarships to youths who were successful at the language proficiency examination conducted by the Foreign Employment Bureau. 247 received certificates. The Minister pointed out that Sri Lankans can secure more jobs by discharging their services with dedication in South Korea. Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa were present.
