Mar 8, 2011 9:35:07 AM - itnnews.lk

President Rajapaksa has pointed out that the Government’s desire was to go for development so that its dividends could be enjoyed by the masse spread throughout the country.

The President said that amity between the people should be built. Hatred should be eliminated. Everyone should unite as children of one mother. It is only then that the country could be built. He said he is the President of the country. As such he said all people are the same to him. His obligation is to serve everyone. The people as well as their children can enjoy a better future only if the country is economically strengthened. The President said he strongly believe that the children of this country should be enriched with knowledge so that they could be presented to the world. He told the crowd to be with them and remain with the beetle leaf.

The President was addressing a gathering of United Peoples’ Freedom Alliance activists at the Mannar grounds. It was organized in parallel to the meetings conducted by the party countrywide under the theme “A Super Country Through a Developed Village”. Senior Minister Milroy Fernando and Minister Rishath Bathiudeen were present.
