A Marietta woman has been charged with felony driving under the influence in a wreck that killed a social worker and a 9-year-old girl in foster care.
Pickens County authorities say Julie Melton Mason has been charged with two counts of felony DUI causing death and two counts of felony DUI causing great bodily injury.
The Highway Patrol says Mason's GMC Sierra crossed the center line on March 4 and hit a car being driven by 36-year-old Chrystal Nicole Harrison. The social worker and 9-year-old Raven Alania Stancil were killed. Raven's two teenage brothers were injured.
DSS says Raven and her brothers entered the agency's care last summer and were being taken back to their foster home after a visit with one of their parents when the crash happened.
