The Ministry of External Affairs has said that so far there are no reports of Sri Lankans who have been affected due to the earth quake and the Tsunami that hit Japan.
The special information unit of the Ministry has been continuously collecting details of the areas that were affected. Sendai in Japan has been the worst affected area. Sarath Dissanayake, Director General-Public Communications in the External Affairs Ministry said that this area has the lowest number of Sri Lankans. Information on the disaster is continuously being monitored. He said that that they are vigilant about the fate of Sri Lankans.
