The Foreign Employment Bureau has mooted a relief programme for Sri Lankan workers who had returned home due to political instability in Libya.
555 Sri Lankans who had been serving in Libya had already returned home. The Foreign Employment Bureau said it hopes to provide some relief when granting air tickets if they were willing to return to their respective jobs. The Unit established at the Katunayake International Airport has gathered information on the Lankans who had returned from Libya. The Bureau announced its intention to craft a special programme with the support of the Department of Immigration and Emigration in respect of granting them air tickets.
