Georgetown deputy, wife accused of animal cruelty

A Georgetown County sheriff's deputy and his wife have been charged with animal cruelty.
The sheriff's department says Deputy William Baxley and Miranda Baxley of Georgetown are charged with four counts of cruelty to animals.
The sheriff's office says it received a complaint March 4 about three dead dogs at a home. Deputies say they found three dead dogs and a female lab and nine puppies.
Baxley has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
It was not clear if the couple has a lawyer.
