Artificial limbs from ‘Sahodaratvaye Piyasatahan’

An organization known as ‘Sahodaratvaye Piyasatahan’ has been set up for the benefit of the war heroes who have lost their legs in the war against terrorism.

The aim of the organization is to provide artificial limbs for the war heroes who have lost their legs. The inaugural function of the programme was held at the BMICH where the policy statement and the future plan of the organization were handed over to its senior advisor First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa. The organization has initiated a programme to provide artificial legs to all war heroes who lost their legs in the war, free of charge. The organization has requested people to credit at least one rupee from their accounts monthly, for the fund set up for this purpose. The public can credit money to Account Number 210100150001579 at the Peoples’ Bank branch of Kollupitiya. The Manel Mal campaign donated 8 wheel chairs to be given to disabled soldiers.
