Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratna has said that the ‘Sasunen Sevana’ programme will be instrumental in improving the economy and the standard of living.
The Prime Minister expressed this view at the inaugural function of the Sasunen Sevana housing project. The function was held in Gampola. 20,210 houses will be constructed for low income families under this project. The project is being launched by the National Housing Development Authority with assistance from Lanka Shasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya. The beneficiaries are selected by the Dayaka Sabhas under the guidance of Buddhist monks of the relevant temples. Minister Wimal Weerawansa also addressed the gathering.
