SC: inspector faked report on train ride involved in child's death

South Carolina officials say the state inspector who OK'd a children's train ride that crashed over the weekend, killing a boy and injuring dozens, falsified his report.
Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation chief Catherine Templeton said Monday the inspector could not have tested the Spartanburg ride because a battery in the train was dead, making it inoperable.
She said the inspector has been fired.
Six-year-old Benji Easler died in the wreck Saturday. His parents and siblings were injured.
Earlier Monday, the train's driver was released from a hospital in Greer.
