Lakhanda Radio has been successful in granting sight to 100 persons.
The event was organized under the “Isiwara Sevana” programme. Spectacles were distributed among 106 persons who were in dire need of gaining sight. The distribution took place at the ITN Head Office premises today. They were selected from over 5000 persons during a Medical Clinic conducted at the Ethanamadala Junior School in Kalutara recently. Contact lenses were also donated to those who were to undergo immediate surgeries. Financial grants were provided by Wethara Kahathuduwa Lions Club 306 A-2.
ITN Chairman Rosmund Senaratne, Working Director P.B. Dasanayake, General Manager Aruna Wijesinghe, DGM Lakhanda Radio Ashoka Karunanayake, 306 A-2 Lions District Governor Sunil Dharmaratne and members of the Lions Club were present.
