President Rajapaksa has declared open the “Lakdiya Medura”, the new Complex of the Ministry of Water Supply and Drainage Board.
The Ministry is now located in this new building. It was earlier housed in a rented building. The new complex is located at Pelawatte in Battaramulla. The cost incurred on the new building was 300 million rupees. The President unveiled the plaque of the new building at an auspicious time amidst religious observances. Thereafter the President inspected the complex and had cordial discussions with Ministers and officials. The Ministry of Water Supply and Drainage Board will now be able to provide an efficient service by housing all institutions coming under its purview under one roof. Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa and many Parliamentarians including Minister Dinesh Gunawardena were present on this occasion.
