Talks between the Government and the Tamil National Alliance are continuing.
President Rajapaksa said that several rounds of discussions are slated for the future. A Ministerial Committee has also been set up in this respect. Certain proposals have been submitted by the TNA for the national issue. The President however said that no final decision has yet been reached. A problem which prevailed for nearly 60 years cannot be resolved in a day or two. He pointed out that their aim is to seek solutions to the problem after lengthy and broad discussions. But during a meeting with editors of the print and electronic media, the President emphatically mentioned that the Eelam dream of Prabhakaran or securing a separate state will not become a reality under any situation or solution.
The President underlined that terrorism was totally uprooted from the country so that it could not be achieved at all. The national conflict can be resolved through a home grown solution. It should be solution which would not have any impact on any community. The President underscored that it would be a solution suitable for the country and which would not harm the motherland.
